Our Story

Once we reach a certain age, we start to realize that people are different from each other in terms of their behavior and way of living. These differences stem from each individual's worldview, giving rise to the diverse lifestyles we see around us. Some people lead a life centered around sacred beliefs, while others have built their lives on material possessions and wealth. The fundamental difference between the two lies in their worldviews, which ultimately shapes their behavior and way of living.

Individuals who follow a materialistic worldview see existence through a narrow lens, which limits their perception of the world and influences their behavior. They see life as a series of material causes and effects, unlike those who follow a religious worldview. The latter sees the material and metaphysical factors behind every action and perceives existence as a holistic, interconnected entity. For instance, a religious person sees a connection between preserving family ties, long life, good sustenance, and rainfall, which is not conceivable by someone who has adopted a materialistic worldview.

The type of worldview an individual adopts is determined by their channels of knowledge. If their knowledge is based on science and experimental methods, then their worldview will be materialistic. However, if their knowledge is based on revelation, intellect, experimentation, and witnessing, then they will have a religious worldview.

Unfortunately, some people have distorted their perception of religion. Some have limited its role in their lives to mere rituals and acts of worship, while others have abandoned the sacred aspect altogether. In reality, religion is a way of living that encompasses all aspects of our existence, including social relationships, mental and physical health, education, politics, business, environment, and more. Islam, in particular, is a way of life that provides guidance on how to lead a fulfilling and purposeful life.

In pursuit of promoting this perception of religion and the Islamic way of living, KTL was born. KTL offers various programs and services to help individuals cultivate a more fulfilling and purposeful life by resorting to the Creator and identifying the universal laws that sustain our well-being in all aspects of our lives. After all, who besides the Creator Himself possesses such knowledge and wisdom?

Founder

Mohammad El-Chaer

Mohammad is a Lebanese-German student of the Islamic sciences. He was born and raised in Germany; and he lived there until he reached the age of twenty when he decided to move to Lebanon to pursue Islamic studies in the seminary. Implementing his role as a teacher and conveyor of the Islamic message, Mohammad delivered lectures in several countries across the world including Germany, The Netherlands, Sweden, UK, Canada and Lebanon. He delivers his lectures in the Arabic, English and German languages.

Throughout his experience in tutoring and counseling, Mohammad encountered a chasm between people’s adoption of Islam as their religion and their actual lifestyle. He realized that Muslims, generally, had a narrow understanding of their religion which was the main reason behind the problems they faced in different aspects of their lives. In pursuit of bridging this gap, Mohammad established the organization Keys to Life (KTL) which aimed at promoting the Islamic lifestyle by designing programs that support the Muslim community with incorporating Islamic teachings into their everyday lives.
